People on the left get butt hurt by words. They feel that if they control speech then they control society. The Bible tells us that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. It also tells us that we are responsible for every idle word we speak. When we hit our thumb with a hammer do we say “oh crap” or “oh s**t”? One takes more self disciple to say and one takes less because of cultural appropriations. The book of Titus tells us to embrace the good parts of society and reject the bad ones. Self-discipline is one for God’s fruits of the Spirit from Galatians chapter 5.
A certain political statement has come to power these days and is quite popular with Christians of all levels (there should only be one level, but that’s another blog). There is a vulgar version that gets the blood pumping and a clean version that celebrates the success of the other candidate. Because certain individuals feel that both are bad I’ve chosen to stifle my first amendment right for the sake of Romans 14:13-23.
Since this is a parental rights group I will always teach my kids to not participate in the vulgarity in order to be set apart from the world. However, they may wear t-shirts in school with the non-vulgar version. My wife and I teach according to the absolute authority of the Word of God. He loves life and Israel. He wants to be involved in every area of our lives. He doesn’t want church tradition. He wants a relationship with us. It’s only fitting that Vicki and I use our parental rights to teach our kids about politics and what God says about it. In this day and age there is only one way to vote. We are indeed supposed to vote, but only Jesus saves. Politics does not.
Let’s go God!
